Protection of your privacy is very important to Sixbid. We would therefore like to inform you in detail about the way in which your data are handled.

1. ACCESS DATA AND HOSTING

Not logging in to our website allows you to use our web service without having to disclose your personal details. When our web pages are called up, the web server only saves a server log file which contains, for example, the name of the requested files, your IP address, the date and time of the request, the amount of data transferred and the provider (access data) from which the request was submitted. The web server also records the visit.

We use these access data solely for the purpose of ensuring trouble-free operation of our website and to improve our services. In accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this serves to safeguard our main legitimate interest in correctly delivering our offer in consideration of our interests. The access data are deleted at the latest seven days after the end of your visit to the website.

WEB HOSTING BY A THIRD PARTY PROVIDER

In the course of processing on our behalf, third parties provide us with hosting services for the presentation of the website. This serves to safeguard our main legitimate interest in correctly delivering our offer in consideration of our interests. All data collected in the way described as follows during use of this website or in forms designed for this purpose are processed on the third-party servers. Processing on other servers only takes place within the framework described here.

These third-party providers are located in Germany and Switzerland. The service provider in Switzerland is obliged through agreements with the EU and contractually with Sixbid to comply with the data protection standards applicable in the EU.

2. DATA COLLECTION AND USE FOR CONTRACT PROCESSING, MAKING CONTACT AND OPENING A CUSTOMER ACCOUNT

Sixbid collects personal data if you voluntary disclose them when you contact us (e.g. by means of a contact form or an email) or open a customer account. Compulsory fields are marked as such since we urgently need these data to process the contract, handle your contact request or open a customer account. If you do not share these details, we cannot open a customer account or send a contact message. The data we collect are shown in the respective input forms. Sixbid uses the data provided by you in accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. b of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to process the contract and handle your requests. After the contract has been completed in full or the customer account has been deleted, we restrict the processing of your data. Once the statutory storage period prescribed by tax law and commercial law has elapsed, we will delete them unless you expressly consent to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use your data beyond this period, which is permitted by law and about which we will inform you in this statement. Your customer account can be deleted at any time by sending an email to the contact address given above at any time. Please note: The message requesting deletion of your customer account will also be saved for technical reasons and will not be deleted until the statutory storage period prescribed by tax law and commercial law has elapsed.

3. DATA TRANSMISSION

TO AUCTION HOUSES

To meet the requirements of the contract between us and you and between you and the respective auction house, we will pass on your data in accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. b of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to the auction house entrusted with the sale where this is necessary for the bidding and purchasing process. In doing so, we will also pass on your data to companies which are not located in the EU or EEA and are not subject to the rules and regulations comparable with the GDPR. The transfer of personal data to these companies is only carried out where it is necessary to fulfil the contract. Sixbid refers you expressly to the privacy statement of the respective auction house to which you submit your bids through Sixbid. Sixbid is unable to guarantee protection of your data to a standard required by the GDPR where they are transferred to non-member states of the EU or EEA.

TO PAYMENT SERVICE PROVIDERS

Depending on which payment service provider you choose when opening a customer account, we will pass on the payment details that we collect to process the payments to the bank or building society entrusted with the payment and, if necessary, the payment service provider commissioned by us or the selected payment service. In some instances, the selected payment service providers also collect these data themselves when you open an account with them. You must then register with your payment service provider using your access data in the course of opening an account. The privacy statement of the respective payment service provider then also applies.

We also use payment service providers located in non-member states of the European Union. The transfer of personal data to these companies is only carried out where it is necessary to fulfil the contract. However, Sixbid is unable to guarantee protection of your data to a standard required by the GDPR.

DATA TRANSMISSION TO COLLECTION AGENCIES

To fulfil the contract in accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. b of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we will transmit your data to a collection agency commissioned by us if our requests for payment are not met by you despite a reminder being sent. In this case, our request will be dealt with directly by the collection agency. Furthermore, forwarding serves to safeguard our main legitimate interest in consideration of our interests in the effective enforcement and assertion of our payment request in accordance with Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

DATA TRANSMISSION TO THIRD PARTIES AND AUTHORITIES

We may transmit your personal data to third parties if sharing data in this way is necessary to facilitate your further access to our services, fulfil our statutory obligations, execute our General Terms and Conditions, and prevent, identify, curtail and investigate fraud or illegal activities in connection with our services. We limit the amount of personal data that we pass on to the extent that is relevant and necessary to immediately achieve the given purpose.
